today, i learn another version of dumpling in europion countries

Pierogi are filled dumplings made by wrapping unleavened dough around a savoury or sweet filling and cooking in boiling water水煮. They are often pan-fried 煎before serving.The widely-used English name pierogi was derived from Polish. Pierogi are also popular in modern-day American and Canadian cuisine, where they are sometimes known under different local names.Typical fillings include potato, cheese, quark, sauerkraut,酸菜 ground meat, edible mushrooms食用香菇, and/or fruits. Savoury pierogi are often served with a topping of sour cream, fried onions, or both.

Pitepalt (see palt) is a Swedish dish related to meat-filled dumplings.  This dish has many varieties. Pitepalt are mostly made of raw potatoes and a mix of wheat and barley flour.

In conclusion, both of them are called dumpling. we need to realize the ambiguous words by ourselves.
