Maybe, taxpayers certainly pay the expenses of a royal family. But, some nations and colonies considered a royal family as a tradition and not ready to give up. A royal family is still influential even if it is ceremonial.

2. Should governments hold regular polls 定期民意調查or referendums 公投to find out if citizens want to abolish the monarchy?

When the successor is less popular and less famous, the government might hold polls or referendums to abolish the monarchy.

3. On September 9, 2015, Queen Elizabeth II became the longest- reigning British monarch in history. Several Commonwealth聯邦 realms領域, including Canada, Australia, and Jamaica牙買加, still have the Queen as their ceremonial head of state.
